Puppies, explosions, underwear sizes, and a multiple murder mystery. Mix them together and what do you get? The first twenty minutes of He Is Psychometric. While first episodes can mislead, for good or for bad, this one certainly hasn't disappointed, and I certainly hope I'm not mislead. After just finishing The Story of Ming Lan and The Legend of Hao Lan over the past couple months, I've been wanting to watch something with a bit more pizazz. Don't get me wrong, I love a good historical drama, and they are usually a visual treat; however, both of these were 70+ episodes with low amounts martial arts (boo!). So switching back to a sci-fi, murder mystery, and romantic thriller has been a nice change of pace, and what I've been looking for, that special and unexplainable zing!
For the synopsis, our hero and local psychometric is as Lee Ahn (Park Jin-young). For those who aren't familiar, a psychometric is a fictional skill for someone who can discern facts about an item or person through the sense of touch. Both he and our heroine, Yoon Jae-in (Shin Ye-eun) are tragically connected to an explosion and set of murders which occurred during their childhood at an apartment complex. In their last year of high school, Jae-in transfers to his class, where she desperately attempts to hide a secret of her own. Also happening at the same time, is another set of murders. These look eerily familiar and resemble the scene of the previous crime. It's up to our main couple, along with detective (presumably a couple) Kang Sung-mo and Eun Ji-soo to unravel the mystery behind a murderous pyromaniac.
I'm guessing this is going to follow an exciting, if not predictable, story of solving a murder and falling in love along the way. Lee Ahn's curiosity and mischievousness, paired with Jae-in's tenacity and seriousness looks to be a fun dynamic between our central couple.
